What do we hope to accomplish with this?
It is the job of school administrators to support teachers, but it is also their job to challenge teachers to be better today than they were yesterday.
As things get tough, make sure you don't get stuck in a rut, and if you do, remember you don't have to get out of it by yourself.
As you visit this site, be open minded. Also be realistic. As you are challenged to explore additional methods, remember that no one expects you to change ALL of what you do. The teachers within SSISD are tremendous, passionate educators that want students to succeed. You have great lessons, you do great things daily. Don't look at anything here as another initiative packed with buzzwords and "fluff."
We know you care about your students, so with that in mind, challenge yourself to take time each day, each week, or even each month to truly search for a way to improve upon the great things you are already doing. Lou Holtz summed it up best in this quote, "If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven't done anything today."
Communicate with each other. When you have a great idea, help it spread like a wildfire. When you need help creating that spark, ask for it. When you see your students get excited over something, share that with others. When you find a great tool, flaunt it.
Visit the Contact Us page if you have questions, comments, or something awesome to share. We will do everything we can to help.
